Join the club — Job Club, that is
By Adam Ling
SF Goodwill
Goodwill is working harder than ever to help you find the job you deserve.
We’re expanding our successful Job Club to 10 dates this month to be as flexible and available as possible to meet participant needs.
The purpose of peer-supported Job Clubs is to assist participants in getting hired, provide participants access to peer resource support and help expand networking opportunities.
Each group, led by a Goodwill specialist, will cover topics such as hot job markets, resume/cover letters, developing your pitch, dressing for success, motivation, networking techniques and soft skills.
Our Job Club facilitators have years of combined professional experience they are eager to share, as well as a focus on specific industry sectors.
Adam Rogers has worked with nonprofits for several years and focuses on retail, government, healthcare and other industries. John Navarra has traveled and worked with nonprofits on both coasts, is engaged in numerous networking events, and focuses on restaurant and food industry, green-environment and solar technology industries. Michael Garceau has years of sales and management experience in the construction field, has received recognition for leading career-focused workshops, and focuses on security guard, information technology and warehouse industries, among others.
Learning from March’s activities, we’ve expanded the locations and times when job clubs are held. We’ll have:
• 2 meetings at Western Addition One Stop at 1449 Webster from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3 and 17
• 8 meetings at SOMA One Stop at 1500 Mission from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10 and 24; from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4 and 18; and from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 12, 19 and 26
• 2 meetings in San Mateo County
Any person who uses Goodwill services is welcome to attend these sessions. Walk-in users of our One Stops are also welcome.
Prior registration is not required, though appreciated.

And best of luck!
