Building a Future: Goodwill Fall Career Fair

When Goodwill Industries hosted its career fair last May, there was excitement in the air. Employers had set up their tables and met enthusiastically with prospective candidates. People from all over San Francisco prepared themselves to stand out from the crowd in hopes of attaining a pathway to self- sufficiency.
Job seekers practiced “elevator pitches” and perfected their answers to the inevitable interview questions regarding their greatest “strengths and weaknesses.” Goodwill staff set up sign-in tables, manned the computer lab to provide assistance with online applications, and readied rooms for workshops which ranged from networking strategies, to how to succeed when jobs are scarce.
Over 300 people attended and had the chance to interact with 15 employers that afternoon, and it is safe to say that the job fair was a smashing success.
It is now October and as Goodwill prepares to host another gathering of employers and the employable, it is our hope that we can again create that excitement. This Friday, October 26th, from 1-4 p.m. Goodwill is hosting 18 employers from a myriad of professions at our 1500 Mission Street location for the community to come and make their best impression.
From Charles Schwab to United Parcel Service, hiring managers will be available to answer questions, speak about current openings, and offer insight into the application process. Goodwill will also be assisting individuals with online applications in our One Stop Career Center computer lab and offering free resume critiques to interested attendees.
So come one and come all, your next step awaits you at SF Goodwill’s Fall Career Fair!
